QUALITY IMPROVEMENT INITIATIVES:
As an organization that
puts their employees first, Distribution
Solutions has embarked on many
funded initiatives to improve
productivity, efficiency, and
moral. We have received funding
from the New Jersey Department
of Labor and have already completed
the following courses:
• Occupational Safety
and Health Training (Warehouse
supervisors, workers)
• Hi-Lo certification
courses (Warehouse supervisors,
workers)
• English as a second
language courses (Warehouse
workers)
• Introduction to personal
computers, word, works, excel
(Office workers, warehouse supervisors)
• Management skills for
supervisors (Directors, warehouse
supervisors)
• Total quality management
(Directors, Supervisors)
In addition, we have implemented
many internal systems for tracking
productivity:
• Man hours required per
unit produced
• Total revenue per man
hour spent
• Total units produced
per total payroll dollars spent
• Daily comparisons of
man hours worked to plan with
comparisons to previous day,
week, and month
• Monthly budget variance
meetings comparing actual numbers
to plan
As a result, we are constantly
striving to improve our standards,
improve our service levels,
and improve our margin by improving
our efficiency.
